Biodynamic Farming Since 1943.

Rooted in Tradition, Growing for the Future.

Welcome to Zinniker Farm, the oldest Biodynamic farm in America. Nestled in the heart of southeast, Wisconsin, this farm stands as a beacon of sustainability, community, and regeneration. Established in 1943 by the Zinniker family, the farm has been dedicated to nurturing the land through biodynamic farming methods, which enrich the soil and, in turn, the food produced.

Biodynamic farming is a type of agriculture that treats the farm as a self-sustaining, living organism. It focuses on natural methods, like composting and crop rotation, to keep the soil healthy and the ecosystem balanced. Biodynamic farming also considers the influence of the moon and planets on plant growth, aiming to create a farm that works in harmony with nature.

This farm is more than just a farming enterprise. It is a place where cultivation of health for the community, the animals, and the land is paramount. Led by the third-generation farmers, Mark and Petra Zinniker, the farm is a pioneer in transforming the model of the traditional family farm into a community-supported haven.

Mark & Petra Zinniker

Mark and Petra Zinniker, the third-generation stewards, have pioneered transforming the traditional family farm into a model of community-supported agriculture. Mark grew up on the farm and his deep passion for the earth and sustainability is visible everywhere on the farm.

Petra was born and raised in Germany and always had an interest in the environment and growing her own healthy food. She came to the Zinniker farm as an apprentice in 1991 where she met Mark and moved here in 1994 after finishing her education in Germany. Now they are teaching and will be working with the Benkowskis, who share their deep commitment to nurturing the land and community.

Aidan & Alisyn Benkowski

The farm is ready to continue its legacy of sustainable and community-focused agriculture under fresh stewardship of Aidan and Alisyn Benkowski. This young family brings new energy, ideas, and a deep commitment to the principles that have made the Zinniker Farm a pillar of health and regeneration since 1943.

The Benkowskis come from a background of entrepreneurship, health and wellness. Aidan grew up visiting the Zinniker farm and has a passion to connect people with nutrient dense food. Alisyn graduated with her masters in acupuncture and Bachelors of nutrition and they share a vision not only to steward the land, but reconnect farming and healthcare as it once was.
